What is Digital Design, or Digital Imaging? Basically, it is the using of a computer to do the work that a Graphic Artist once did by hand. For example, a black and white photograph was once coloured by a skilled artist using an air brush. Another example would be the creation of a logo, a card, such as a business card, or a wedding invitation, etc. The computer allows a graphic artist far more lattitude in the creation of any design, and it further acts as a time saver, thus reducing the cost factor. Photographers at one time had to find one of their own who was skilled with an air brush if a photograph needed to be touched up, repaired, or colourized. Now they come to shops like mine. I can do the work more quickly and for less money. For more information, an excellent explanation of "digital imaging" can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_imaging. |
